Thank you to everyone that came out this past Saturday! Over 40 Rotarians braved the welcomed sunshine, while lifting heavy sod rolls, dirt, mud and debris into wheelbarrows, a dump truck and a tractor bucket. Whether it was heavy lifting, coordinating volunteers or prepping refreshments, all hands were appreciated. Sounds like Rotary at work!
Jim Bremner, Washington Rotarian and Washington Park District Board member, asked that I share that the cleanup day(s) will be the first of three phases that will include; ensuring the grounds are safe for park goers, constructing a permanent restroom facility that doubles as a storm shelter, as well as a final phase of a family shelter to be built.
With design & budgetary details in the works, I will share more as information comes available. We may also need to have additional clean-up/planting days depending on progress from contractors.
3 spade shovels made it home with the incorrect owner(s). Please check your collection and let me know if you have an extra or two!
