It is rewarding that initial DAF grants have provided seed money which has expanded the oportunities to serve with recognition of Rotary efforts and recent awards of $500,000 grants to Rotary Club of Little Rock and the Rotary Club of Jonesboro/Bay St Louis by the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund and Rotary Club of Poplarville from both the Lower Pearl River Valley Foundation and the National Recreation Foundation. for a total one million dollars for Safe Harbor project to assist 2600 youth. Recently, significant Block Grants have been initially approved or received for $3.875 million for the Bay St Louis Community Center and $2 million for the Long Beach Senior Recreation Shelter. It is also rewarding that the DAF grants have been in large part matching so that local Rotarians and others in the communities have invested significantly in these projects not only in money but by time and talent.
